From a Hatton Garden workshop to retail shops and a car made from silver, platinum, and gold. Russell has been in the jewellery trade for 45 years and has a passion for what he does.
Russell Lord has been in the jewellery trade for 45 years. He had worked in the jewellery trade in Hatton Garden from the age of 15 and has had many apprentices who have gone on to become successful jewellers. In 2012, Lord Of London was established, and we opened up our first retail store. Not long afterwards, we opened up our second store and in 2018, Russell Lord Bespoke was established. Russell started posting his daily videos on his personal Facebook page of himself building parts of the silver escort and would share them to a variety of different classic car pages. Instantly Russells' inbox started flooding with messages from people all over the country and over a period of time gained a large following of people, supporting Russell along his way with making the MK2 escort. Now people from all across the world are watching the silver car being made, with Russell posting daily updates and videos on the facebook page where it all started.
Russell decided very early on into building the silver car that it was going to be sold, either at an auction or in a raffle, with all of the money raised being donated to various children's charities to help provide them with what they need. Alongside this, a go-fund-me page was set up for Russell for people who couldn't attend the final stage but were motivated by the charitable work that he is doing; which inspired people to donate some money for the cause. It's still not certain how the car will be sold, but from the kindness that the silver car has brought out in people it has inspired, Russell is looking to do more charitable things in the future.
